Marketing for founders: The first three steps, without overwhelming you.

As a founder, you already have enough tasks on your to-do list. Business plan, financing, first customers, maybe even product development, and then suddenly you hear: “Do the marketing too!” You’re probably asking yourself: “When am I supposed to find the time for that?” Don’t worry: marketing doesn’t have to be an additional source of stress. Especially in the beginning, it’s not about being present on all channels right away or having the perfect marketing plan. It’s much more important to just get started in a way that suits you. Here are three simple steps you can take to tackle your marketing without overwhelming yourself.

Authentic marketing for founders: Start with yourself, not with everyone else.

Perhaps you are familiar with this: You read articles, listening to podcasts, scrolling through LinkedIn and everywhere telling you supposed experts what you absolutely must do. Website, Instagram, SEO, ads, podcast, newsletter… the list is endless. The result: pure overwhelm is inevitable.
My tip: Turn the tables! Ask yourself first what you yourself feel like doing.
• Do you enjoy writing? Then a blog or a newsletter could be the right place to start.
• Would you like to tell us? Then try a short video or a podcast.
• Do you prefer direct contact? Then focus on networking events and personal conversations.

What is important is not what others do, but rather what suits you and your everyday business life. Because only then will you be able to stick with it in the long term.

Marketing tips for founders: Start small and get going.

Many founders think they need to have a perfect marketing plan in place before they can get started. But the truth is, the best way to learn marketing is by doing it. Start small, with something you can implement today or this week.
• Introduce yourself at the start of a networking event briefly before.
• Post a thought or a short experience on LinkedIn.
• Please your first customers or contacts actively for recommendations.

Such steps are manageable, but they often have a significant effect. Above all they get you to take action and that is a46> more important than any strategy on paper.

Important here is: Trust yourself calmly also to and to, to go beyond your comfort zone and. Independence means always trying new things and becoming visible to others. a20> become visible to others. This does not have to happen all at once Go at your own pace, But be brave.

Most of the time you are in hindsight glad that you took the risk. And don’t forget: Everyone has once started small. Don’t compare yourself with the supposedly perfect great role models, your path may grow step by step.

Marketing without stress: just give it a try!

There are always new trends: social media, AI tools, funnels, lead ads… And of course there are people who say: “Without that nothing works!”
But don’t let that drive you crazy. You don’t have to be everywhere and follow every trend to be successful. a23> every trend to be successful in life. Ask yourself instead:
• Do I feel like trying out this channel?
• How do I reach my target audience?
• Does it fit into my schedule?

If you are curious about, try a channel just once playfully without the pressure that everything has to be perfect right away. If you don’t like it, you can leave it as it is. Full stop.
Marketing should feel easy to do. See it as an experiment, not as a test. There is no right or wrong, but only experiences, from which you can learn .
My tip: only plan what fits into your everyday life. There’s no point in to set yourself the goal of spending five hours per week on social media, if you know that you will never manage it.

Conclusion: Your marketing must suit you.

Marketing doesn’t have to be yet another to-do list that overwhelms you. If you first take a look at what your own strengths and a14> ideas are and you don’t let yourself be pressured by outside influences and let yourself be influenced, creates a good foundation. On this you can build step by step without overwhelming yourself. without overwhelming yourself too much.
The three steps once more briefly summarised:

  1. Start with yourself and find out what you really want a7> find out what you really like or what you feel like doing.
  2. Start small, keep at it continuously and learn from your experiences.
  3. Consider marketing as an experiment, without letting yourself be driven

This is how you find your piece of piece your own marketing path, which is not based on pressure and stress, but based on clarity feels. This is exactly how you automatically attract the people who really suit you: your ideal customers.
